Doune Castle Bowling Club was established in Doune from 1850, making it the 3rd oldest club in Scotland!!

This was two years after the first unsuccessful attempt to form a national body for the sport in 1848 and 42 years before the Scottish Bowling Association came into being in 1892.

After having greens on the South and West side of Doune, the club settled in their present position in 1925. The present club house was opened in 1981 and work has recently been completed in upgrading the changing facilities.

If there is anyone who has other historical information on the Club, please contact us!Β  We’d love to extend this page!
